The organisation

The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center [MBCAC] is located in Maastricht, the Netherlands and supports all after sales customers for passenger cars, trucks and vans in Europe. In 2015 the MBCAC has been granted the world wide governance role for all Mercedes aftersales call centers around the globe. As a consequence the local IT Provider for the MBCAC has transformed into a Global Service Provider for the core CRM and telephony applications of Daimler.
Currently we are in the middle of a transition to enable this worldwide expansion to 54 countries and we still have 24 countries to go.

The function

Within the department Demand Management & Governance you are our new IT Project Manager and you will be a part of an international team with people from all over the world. The main goal of the IT Project Manager (PM) is to lead large projects which implement solutions and methodologies that enable clients / business partners to optimize their business. You take complete ownership on day to day issues related to the assigned projects.
The PM will be working with business partners, internal technical teams and external providers. You are responsible for setting up the project, defining the project structure, targets, planning, methodology and the organization of the project team. The PM manages time, budget, quality borders, issues & risks, schedules and dependencies in assigned projects.
The PM combines technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and business knowledge, and contributes to continuous improvement of processes and procedures within and beyond the IT department.

Requirements

Profile must-haves

  • Able to manage projects and capable to ensure Business Partners’ satisfaction with the IT environment;
  • Have demonstrable and thorough knowledge and experience of project management methods, preferable PMI, alternatively Prince2 or any other method;
  • Outstanding influencing and decision making qualities to make critical decisions in a timely manner;
  • Excellent analytic and interpersonal skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support;
  • Ability to balance the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization;
  • Ability to partner with both technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders, to interact with various levels of management, and to promote cross functional collaboration;
  • Ability to be flexible and work accurately and hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment with changing priorities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (second European language is a plus).
Profile nice-to-haves
  • University degree or higher-vocational in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education
  • At least two years of working experience as an IT Project Manager;
  • You are someone who sees challenges where other people see problems;
  • You need to be a self-starter who is willing to go for the extra mile;
  • Strong analytical background, communication and problem solving skills;
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of your time.
